WHY JOY NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT
Joy is only 5 years old, yet she is fighting a battle that few of us can truly understand. She lives in a world where she feels, understands, and longs… but cannot express what’s in her heart. There are moments when she looks at us, and we know she wants to communicate, to ask for help, to be understood. But the words don’t come.
Joy suffers from a rare genetic condition – SYNGAP1 – which affects her brain development. In addition, she faces daily challenges such as generalized hypotonia, digestive issues, encopresis, and multiple allergies and intolerances.
She has worked incredibly hard in therapy. For years. Without giving up. But no matter how much she fights, some things cannot be built without the right support. And that support also means a constant financial effort: her monthly treatment costs reach approximately 8,200 RON, a burden that is very difficult to sustain in the long term.
Today, there is real hope: Cytotron therapy, an innovative technology that may help the brain form new connections. For other children, it has meant first words, better control, and a calmer life.
For Joy, it could mean the beginning of a life where she can:
