MISSIO DEI
WHAT ARE WE DOING
MEETING OF
CELEBRATION AND EQUIPMENT
EVERY SUNDAY, 10:30 am - UNION COMMONS
In the Bible we see that God's people met regularly to celebrate Him (Acts 4:42). On Sunday we meet with the church to celebrate God and His blessings. We also learn from the Bible how we can be better disciples of Jesus. In our meetings we manifest through music, prayer, sharing experiences during the week, socializing, listening to and communicating the Word.
Check our calendar for the location and time of the next meetings.
MISSIONARY COMMUNITIES
God's mission is to restore all things in and through the person of Jesus Christ. The instrument chosen by Him to fulfill this mission is the Church. She is the family of God whom He called to Himself and sent into the world to fulfill His mission. Missionary communities are the main means by which Missio Dei mobilizes people together in mission and connects them with the church family.
A missionary community consists of a nucleus of dedicated people (5-15 people), who live together as a family.
They are focused on God's mission, whether it is colleagues, friends, neighbors, or groups of people who do not know Jesus.
Through these relationships we encourage and challenge each other to assume the new identity given by Jesus Christ and to live our lives in such a way as to show the world what God is like.
The life of the church takes place mainly in the Missionary Communities. Every member of the Missio Dei family is actively involved in such a context. Ultimately, we want each Mission Community to grow and multiply repeatedly so that our city is filled with communities of disciples of Jesus who love one another and carry the message of Jesus to those who are far from Him.
On the map below you can see the approximate area where our Mission Communities meet. Below the map you will also find ways to get in touch with someone from that community for more details.
God's mission is to restore all things in and through the person of Jesus Christ. The instrument chosen by Him to fulfill this mission is the Church. In the restoration process we become more and more what He intended us to be. This restoration work does not take place in isolation, but in the community. We do not grow alone, but we need each other.
A small group represents the basic, indivisible form of existence of the church, namely two or three people in relation to each other. Thus, a small group consists of 2-3 people of the same sex, who meet weekly to get to know and help each other. They apply the gospel to each other's lives and consider themselves growing in the experience of the new identity in Christ.
SMALL GROUPS
In small groups we do not spare each other and do not avoid difficult questions, but seek to tell the truth in love.
Our recommendation is that a group does not grow more than 3 people, but rather multiplies in two groups of two people when the fourth participant turns out to be dedicated to the process.
ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS
-
Sin is confessed in a mutual account. Christians need each other (Hebrews 10: 24-25). There is a strength in relationships built around mutual support. The confession of sin prepares the earth for the hearts of men to receive the Word of God every week.
-
Scripture is read repeatedly –– in context and community. The power of this approach is to unleash the Word of God in people's lives. Jesus made it clear that the Bible is the seed of new life (Luke 8:11, 15). Each group decides what to read from the Bible during the week. The goal is to create an inner appetite for God's Word, so it is preferable to choose a larger portion of Scripture. Repetitive reading of Bible books in context and community will bring a rich reward.
-
Specific and regular prayer for people who do not follow Jesus. Each member of the group should identify two or three people whom the Holy Spirit has placed in their hearts and who need Jesus. Everyone prays weekly for the people on the list. Those who begin to seek Christ become perfect candidates for the next group, and multiplication can occur naturally and spontaneously, and the whole group can enjoy this process.
DE CE SĂ NE ÎNGRIJIM DE NEVOILE ALTORA?
DE CE SĂ PROCLAMĂM MESAJUL LUI IISUS?
Why take care of the needs of others? Why proclaim the message of Jesus?
For many, Christianity is a difficult burden to bear. Christians often live motivated by duty, guilt, shame, or self-justification instead of joy and gratitude. The Apostle Paul, in 1 Corinthians 5:14, tells us that it is the love of Christ that compels us to live no longer for ourselves, but for those around us, for the sake of Jesus. When you experience His love, you cannot keep it to yourself.
In Missio Dei we want to listen to and follow Jesus motivated by His love and sacrifice. We seek to represent Jesus out of gratitude for the way He has represented us, dying in our place so that we can become part of God's family (John 1: 11-13).
